Conveniently located downtown in the exclusive and historic South of Broad neighborhood, on the tip of the Charleston peninsula, Skin Works by Jana is one of the city’s best-kept beauty secrets. Skin Works is a private skincare studio known for its highly customized treatments backed by science, and personal approach using the world’s finest skincare products.
Locals and out-of-towners come to Skin Works to be taken care of by founder Jana Williams, an experienced highly trained esthetician who built a loyal clientele through word of mouth.
Established in 2016, Skin Works is a private, bespoke skincare studio that caters to today’s modern lifestyle. Our clientele includes women and men of all ages as well as teenagers. Our partners are some of the world’s most luxurious and effective skincare brands known for their high performance and backed by science.
The studio embraces the new “pro-aging” movement, a holistic, balanced approach to aging which encourages self-acceptance, self-care and wellness as the foundation to a healthy long life. Rather than trying to reach an unrealistic standard, Skin Works supports the aging process with proven skincare and treatments to help boost cell turnover, hydrate and nourish skin.
Skin Works opened its flagship store in Newport Beach in March 2018 as a full-service beauty studio and in 2020, Jana opened a second studio in Jackson Hole, Wyoming focusing on skincare.
A new Skin Works by Jana will open in August 2024 to introduce innovative new therapies to Charleston, South Carolina. This includes the highly lauded scientifically backed OxyLight® facial which touts a menu of pro-aging benefits including skin rejuvenation, acne, prevention, hyperpigmentation and enlarged pores.
Skin Works is excited to be amongst the first in the region to offer the clinically proven, scientifically backed, OxyLight Facial with a multitude of modalities allowing Jana to customize every facial including options for microdermabrasion, microcurrent, ultrasound, oxygen infusion, radio frequency and LED light therapy depending on the condition of your skin.
We also offer the Environ DF III Machine, developed by renowned plastic surgeon Des Fernandez, which uses advanced technology to effectively target common signs of aging including pigmentation, loss of firmness, and dehydration.
Skin Works luxurious facials are customized to a client's unique skin conditions on the day of treatment using various OxyLight and Environ DF II Machine modalities plus double cleansing, massage and extractions if needed. In addition to its signature facials, the studio continues to offer specialty services including brow shaping and brow and lash tinting and dermaplaning.

Jana Williams is Skin Works inimitable founder and beauty visionary. Helping women look beautiful is Jana’s lifelong passion and skincare is her obsession.
Jana has an innate talent for discovering the next big thing. What her colleagues call her “skin intellectual asset” or skincare knowledge comes from years of researching new skincare brands and products from around the world. New technology is constantly evolving but her clients know that Jana tests every device, treatment and product on herself first and only the best make the cut.
She had an “aha” moment when she discovered Environ Skin Care as her philosophy aligns with that of Environ founder Des Fernandes, the world pioneer in using non- invasive technologies to rejuvenate skin.
While many studios use lasers and strong chemical peels, Jana embraces pro-aging and prefers to rebuild the skin through more natural means with a customized plan of treatments. This includes the innovative OxyLight Facial which offers a groundbreaking approach to rejuvenating and revitalizing the skin in the studio alongside a daily skincare plan using scientifically based skin products to get amazing results over time.
Getting older is a privilege and Jana supports the beauty industry’s endorsement of pro-aging. Our skin reflects our overall health, which means adequate sleep, healthy eating and exercise are equally important to aging well.
Jana believes that taking care of your skin is simple when you find the right treatments and products. Teaching her clients how to take care of their skin and product education is her passion and part of every consultation. Since Jana has already done the research to curate the best in skincare, her busy clients can check that box off their “to do” list.

But the good news is that once a client gets started on a customized skincare plan, you can see the results immediately and skin only continues to improve.”
Staying a pioneer in any industry requires continuing education. After 20 years in the dental field, Jana retired from dentistry to pursue her passion for skincare. Within 5 years, she became a licensed Esthetician, certified Permanent Makeup Artist, received 2 nutrition coaching degrees, and earned multiple diplomas and certificates for product training from Environ.
Downtime for Jana always circles back to working while relaxing. Travel inspires Jana and she enjoys sourcing the world for rare beauty finds. Attending industry seminars on the next skincare breakthrough energizes her.
Home is Charleston, South Carolina, a central base which allows her to service her clients and cheer on her favorite sports team, the Cougar’s Men’s Basketball at the College of Charleston, as a proud season ticket holder.
